Iyad Rahwan is Syrian-Australian computer scientist, a former MIT professor, and the founding director of the Max Planck Center for Humans & Machines in Berlin. He holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne.
Rahwan is the co-creator of the Moral Machine, which crowdsourced 80 million decisions from people worldwide about the ethical dilemmas of driverless cars. It was featured in major publications (e.g. The New Yorker, New York Times), conferences (e.g. TED), museums (e.g. Science Museum London) and social media hubs (e.g. Markiplier, Reaction Time). Iyad's scientific work appeared in the world’s leading academic journals, including Science, Nature and PNAS.

What is the goal of this website?
This website aims to educate and stimulate discussion about the societal impacts of Artificial Intelligence through the cartoon/comics medium. Each cartoon is accompanied by a brief blog post that provides more context and useful pointers to further reading. By better understanding AI risks, we can reduce our anxiety about the technology, and embrace all the benefits it offers to humanity.
